For centuries, sailors and explorers have used lighthouses to guide them toward land and to warn them of dangerous rocks and reefs. Although lighthouses are part of a slower, simpler time, even in today’s high-tech age, many lighthouses still serve these purposes.
Maine is home to 65 lighthouses. Washington County boasts 10 of them, including Maine’s most-photographed – the West Quoddy Head Light. Nearby, on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, sits East Quoddy Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in New Brunswick. As befits our location near several of these scenic structures, The Puffin Pines carries a variety of merchandise with a lighthouse motif. If you have an interest in lighthouse merchandise other than what you see here, please let us know.
